LEGAL PROFESSION ACT
The Law Society receives its governing authority from the Legal Professions Act (the “Act”). The Act is available for download from the website of the GNWT Department of Justice: Legal Profession Act R.S.N.W.T. 1988, c.L-2
bill 82: Legal Profession Act
On October 6, 2023 bill 82: Legal Profession Act was given assent by the Commissioner of the NWT. The new Act will come into force upon completion of the new Rules of the Law Society. Members can expect to receive updates during this process.
